Happy New Year!
Mayor Election:
Something tells me that you are curious about the mayor election. Look at the spike in the graph for today's page views! After careful counting and re-counting, the mayor is...
Alex!
#1: Your story!
By Friday, you need to have a complete rough draft of your story. It must include descriptions of characters, setting and plot. The focus is providing details. Don't just say it's a living room. Say it's a quiet living room with an L-shaped couch. The couch is big and soft and comfortable, but there isn't a single dog hair on it.
On Friday, we will copy a final draft and turn it in. The final drafts will be copied into a class anthology. Late entries will miss the publication deadline and will not be included in the anthology!
Update: Only three stories were turned in on Friday. This is not good.
#2: Self-Manager Application
This can be turned in any time this year. Of course, the sooner you get it done, the sooner you get to use it. I've printed the last copy of this I'm going to this year. (I've already printed three sets!) If you want to print one for yourself, you can go to this link.
Update: We now have four self-managers in our class. I hope to see more on Monday!
#3: Job Application
Tomorrow is the last day to turn in a job application for the Month of January! (These were assigned way back in October!) Don't worry about jobs that don't get filled; I'll complete those jobs and deduct it from the class fund. (That's sarcasm!) Your application must include:
- The application
- Two letters of reference from anybody. They must be formal letters of reference!
- A formal letter of reference from an adult!
Did you lose your job application? Just like the Self-Manager applications, I've printed the last copy. You can go to this link and print your own.
Update: Five job applications were turned in today plus one from last month. Remember, this was an assignment that we did in October! Looks like a lot of extra tax money for Mr. Schneider!

MYBH
Have you figured out the MYBH puzzle yet? You're almost to the end. Pay attention to everything. You might just let a clue slip by if you're not careful!
Science Test on Friday!
Be sure to finish the Science review tonight. You get to use it on the test tomorrow. You may take additional notes, too. Next week, we're going to finish the whole chapter in a week! If we can accelerate our learning, we'll have time for more hands-on Science.
